Here are a few useful tips to help you make the most of your visit to Iowa Speedway during race weekend:
Arrive early
Getting to the track early – especially on race day – is a big help. Sundays are the busiest, and arriving by around 10 a.m. will give you plenty of time to park, get through security, and enjoy the atmosphere without rushing or sitting in traffic.
Plan ahead
Race weekend traffic in and around Newton can get congested, so plan your route and parking ahead of time. If you can, purchase your parking pass in advance and give yourself extra time to get in and out of the venue.
Be ready for the heat.
August in Iowa is hot and humid. Bring sunscreen, wear a hat and light clothing, and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Have a game plan
Figure out which areas of the track you want to visit–whether it’s fan zones, merch stands, or your grandstand. If you’re going with a group, be aware that cell service might be spotty, especially on Sunday. It’s smart to pick a meeting point ahead of time in case you get separated.
